Ohio Geographic Preferences

So I called aviation careers today and they told me that since I am on the referral list I wont be included on the January panel. I asked the guy why? I told him that Ohio was not included in this panel and he couldnt give me an answer. It sounded like he didnt know what he was talking about.

I heard that in class the other day a teacher announced that Cleaveland is full of trainees and wont be hiring anytime soon... Im really not sure but maybe that is why

If you make the referral list and the states you select aren't hiring you won't get picked. They don't keep names around just because a particular state wasn't hiring.

You can get picked up for a state you didnt put on the Geo Pref. I put Minnesota and Wisconsin and I got picked up for North Dakota. I doubt its normal that they pick you up for a state drastically different then what you put for geo prefs. (ex. You put Florida, Georgia, and then getting picked up for Idaho)

i know zob is hiring...they need 30-40 people picked in January panel...i talked with the training department/hiring department there.

They might need 30-40 people but that doesn't mean that they have the approval to hire them. There are several facilities that feel that they need more controllers but have recently had their staffing numbers reduced to 0. They picked quite a few people out of 5/6 and a lot of them are still awaiting class dates.

If you are on the referral list you will be included in the January panel. You basically get 2 shots at it. I can guarantee that.
