Post ATSAT Checklist

This is what I have made for myself thusfar. Was wondering if there's anything I should add, delete, or rearrange order of priority.

1.) Research which facilities are hiring so you know what to put on your Geo Prefs

2.) Call up facilities you'd like to work at and ask for a tour in order to give them a face and a good impression with the name should they ever come across your application.

3.) Fill out Geo Prefs email when it comes.

4.) Read and live the advice on the "What to do while waiting for the FAA" thread.

Did I miss anything?

suuure... *gives you a Melvin*

Well, the facilities I want are past a reasonable driving distance (6 hrs)...thus wondering if folks' pockets are lined with green to tour many out of state facilities.

I'm just hoping I have a better chance of getting selected for Minneapolis ARTCC than someone who lives out of state

I live in the Cocoa Beach Florida area so I plan on touring Tampa, Orlando, Daytona and Jacksonville. Maaaybe a road trip to Atlanta but only because I know a guy who works at ZTL. Avoiding Miami if possible due to horror stories Ive read bout there.

I've heard horror stories from ZJX as well. You're going to have it anywhere you go. NATCA v. FAA. Ongoing fight. If you're going to go all the way to ZJX then make sure that you can plug in and listen. My first time there was a basic tour and I drove from Daytona. The second time I just went to work with my buddy and listened his whole shift. Good luck.
