January Panel Canceled
Posted: 12-09-2009, 05:00 PM I've been calling the FAA employment portal (405-954-4657 option 1) to try and get any information that I can. They seem to be mum on absolutely anything that has to do with PUBNAT7. It almost seems like they know but are not to say anything to us, but it's hard to say for sure. I've explained to them that I have heard of the rumors of how there will be a panel in January regarding the OTS folks and she informed me that unfortunately, the January panel has been cancelled and they don't know anything else. I asked if she knew if there was to be another panel at all and she said she had no idea. She cited the economy as part of the problem but that's all. I asked her if she had any information at all that I could hang my hat on, and she said that I can call back at the end of December or early January but even then, she doesn't think there is going to be any information.
In the meantime, happy anniversary to all of you folks who have been holding on to dear hope for an opportunity to control the skies. I submitted my application on 12/15/08 so that will be here in less than a week. FML. If you need me, I'll be fashioning a noose in this awful cube that I'm apparently forever doomed to be tethered to. |

Posted: 12-09-2009, 10:34 PM I heard a lot of rumors that the panel for Oct. was canceled too. Perhaps the people there have no idea what is going on. I would think that if the panel was canceled they would update ASAP. Regardless of the economy the controllers who are of age WILL retire and the WILL need people to take their places. The panel might get postponed but I doubt they will cancel it.

why? b/c you explained... they first said "Don't know", then after you said you heard rumors they said "Panels cancelled" you should've stopped at your first question on the call " When are the panels for Pubnat 7?" |
