ATC JOB in Kuwait
Posted: 08-06-2008, 04:57 AM

Whats up,

Two ATC guys quit KBR within the last week to go with other companies. If anyone is interested in a job, I?m good friends with the Airfield Manger and can pass on your resume to him. The pay is approximately $8,500 after taxes, every four months you receive 16 days vacation which 10 of those days you are paid for and $860 towards your flight. On you 3rd R&R you receive 21 days off which 10 of those days you are paid for and a full paid flight to your point of origin. This is a one year open ended contract which means you can leave whenever you want without any penalties but your taxes to the IRS. You have to be out of the US for 330 days to not pay taxes on the first 85K.

Is that supposed to be 85,000 or is it 8,500 per month?

Is this a tower position? I thought that OKAS was the approach control for Kuwait.... if it is a tower position do you have to have a CTO in order to go? I'm still waiting for a FOL for the FAA that I will have to turn down and wait for a new offer on a new anouncement so it is going to be a while before I start getting a real paycheck and working the cash register at military clothing sales isn't going to cut it...... Kuwait is about 100 times safer than Afganny... I'm intersted let me know......

Flight planning, last I heard. No contract ATC'ers have gotten killed in Afghanistan, seems about the same safety level to me.

You don't pay taxes on your first $85,000 as long as you are out of the US for 330 days, the monthly amount which you will be paid is $8,500. I hope this helps!

This is a tower position but they also have several different positions which you could end up in. You will be working in a Military Installation and from my understanding you need to have a few years of experience and your certifications. My email is nightops32@yahoo.com send me your resume and will pass it on to him.

Afghanistan is no way near as safe as Kuwait. In Kuwait you can go out to eat at Pizza Hut and not worry about Motar Rounds, IEDs or Small Arms Fire.

For those of you who sent me your resume I have passed it on to my friend. If selected for an interview you should be receiving a phone call within a week or two. From there the process is simple, the company will fly you to Houston to in process for the job. As long as you’re not hot in your urinalyses, in good shape, and your background check and clearance comes back clean. You should be in Kuwait 7 - 15 days after arriving in Houston. Make sure you come by the Security Office to say hello and to receive your in brief and badges from me. Best of luck! Allen
