It is much different than most of the porblems. I wrote a good post on it if you search my name. The main difference is that the strips never stop printing! There are as many aircraft as 26-27 but not as many conflicts. Instead of there being a lot of one type of conflict, there is a little bit of everything. There will be someone that hits the MOA, a couple that are in conflict with other aircraft but are "wired" at a fix. There are 1 or 2 more that will be in conflict at random places. You will have someone not going in the gate, military COD, etc. The complexity is not as bad but there is some traffic. Just keep your nerves in check! Good Luck!

#23-27 RADAR (whatever the last 5 were) = NOT cake

from what i can remember from a few years back:
  • u will have at least 3 conflicts (1 probably on the screen when u sit down)
  • u will have arrivals and departures from VKS and GWO
  • u will have 1 military change of destination. make sure ur scope and conflicts are good before u go calling flight service.
  • u will have someone hit one of the restricted areas or MOA
  • u will have a pointout to one of the low sectors climbing to high. NWA or SWA, can't remember which is the slow climber

advice:
  • don't freak out about the insane amount of strips that are printing out. i ended up with 2 rows of strips left after the problem
  • tell your damn r-side to put the guys through the gate. don't play hero trying to corrdinate apreqs on guys not following the loa. let the r-side buy off on stuff instead of u trying to hook them up. they cannot fail, u can
  • if something flashes on ur scope, FIX IT and move on. ur not dead in the water. 3 in my class passed with a flasher
  • stay calm and get your inbounds knocked outta the way.
  • find the first conflict before answering the first ring for a release. it'll be already on the scope or very close to it.
  • make sure ur phraseology is dead on. anything close and ur phraseology will decide it. i've seen it happen to the guy next to me. he had a flasher, but knew what he was doing the rest of the time and SOUNDED awesome.
  • don't forget to block with the sector to the northwest if u have a byerly departure.
  • stay calm and bring an extra pen
  • don't cuss under your breath. ur evaluator has u hot in their ear and they will hear it all, even if u think your whispering soft enough. trust me on that one
  • did i mention to STAY CALM

I took the pv on last Friday and succeeded. The problem wasn?t all that busy, I have seen much busier in the problems before hand. Only through the power of the Lord and prayer did I even get through all of this down here. If anyone has any questions about anything let me know, Im here to help.

Hints: Anything going to GPT will usually be a pointout to 65 and anything going Hater to SQS will be a pointout to 67 and anything SQS to SWB will be a pointout to 67. Any guy flying from MEI to SQS watch out cause someone from the northeast flying to SQS will sometimes be at that same altitude. Almost all guys departing Jan will need either an APREQ or pointout to hammond low and usually guys departing northwest toward 67 will sometimes need a pointout climbing high

make sure u find the 3 conflicts. 1 will probably be ON your scope when u sit down. so take the briefing quick, find your conflicts and fix them, pass your inbounds, then hang on for the ride. expect at least 1 point-out to a low sector climbing to high, at least 1 point-out to an adjacent sector (probably to 67 between byerly and sidon), 1 military change of destination (so if u forget how to pass that to FSS, look it up).

good luck and stay calm. if u find yourself with nothing to do for more than 30 seconds...your missing something.
