Posted: 09-19-2011, 05:37 PM CAMEL, Pvt. ASEL/ASES
140 TT, 50 multi-PIC in PA44 Did an internship with ExpressJet, went through the new-hire program and got about 50 hrs in the Level D E145 sims. Stopped at CAMEL, kind of want to get my CASEL just for the hell of it but never wanted to be a CFI (don't think I'd be a very good instructor). Realized after spending $80k on the above that it's next to impossible to go anywhere without getting your CFI. Still have a guaranteed interview with ASA if I want to take it but no way! Go ATC! ![]() Any other seaplane pilots in the house? |

Lol yeah but I've got more than 50 MPIC...I know what you mean tho b/c when I walked into Hortman Aviation at KPNE and asked how much it would cost to get my ASEL add-on, they were like "Uhhhh you mean your AMEL add-on?" I was like nope...had 3 instructors walk up and ask how I get my CAMEL at 100 hrs lol

Re: Let's hear it for the pilots!
Posted: 02-02-2012, 07:06 PM Commerical/instrument pilot with about 280TT. I took the CFI writtens but thats as far as I got... they'll prob expire before I end up finishing the rating. Right now I'm focusing my efforts on getting into a control tower so priorities have shifted. I'll always love the feeling of carelessly floating through the sky though and will def wanna always keep at it as time goes on! Hoping that by not making it a career it will always stay fun
