atc background check question

I am curious on what the background checks are like for ATC jobs. I have heard vairous people day how its in depth and then how its not. I know my dad's for his ASI position with the FAA was pretty elaborate and took a while but even he did know how it would take for ATC.

Besides my lead foot giving me a few speeding tickets I know mine is clear.

I'm just curious if this has anything to do with how long things are taking....

at the pepc they said that it generally takes about 4-6 weeks

Google SF-85 and SF-86 (maybe SF-86p).

I believe those are the background check forms you fill out. 85 for terminal, 86 for en route.

when they did my background check, they called people i put on as a reference. For example, they called my grandparents to check on a address i had in S. Korea. They ask my grandparents if i lived at such and such address when i was there, giving them the wrong address. Luckily my grandmother cought the wrong numbers they gave her and corrected them. So make sure everyone you use as a reference's has the correct info. on you.
