what is a pubnat

Alright guys. I tried acting like i knew the answer to this, but I see so many posts about it that I should probably know what it is.

WTF is Pubnat?? and what is the difference between 1-6?? as in pubnat 1, pubnat 2, pubnat3, etc. Am I a pubnat and just don't realize it? i'm wondering if it's a term i've heard of but didn't realize it applied to me.

Public National Announcements referring to each announcement as they come out 1 being the first of course and 6 being the latest.
There is also PUBNAT(State Abbriv) specified for each state that is looking for hires.

excellent idea. much props on that. those are always appreciated. especially in the fed govt. those stinkin acronyms are always hard to keep up with.
