The 30th edition of Consumer's Checkbook Guide to Health Plans for Federal Employees and Annuitants rates all of almost 300 health insurance plan available to federal employees and retirees, including a dozen national plans, over 250 health maintenance organization (HMO) options, and dozens of high deductible plan options.

The guide informs how much money they can potentially save by changing -- or by staying in -- their health insurance plan. It summarizes thousands of facts about the plans to simplify the decision process.

Pre-orders for access to the guide -- available at the beginning of the 2009 FEHB Open season -- are being taken here: Consumers' Checkbook. Both a print and online version for individuals are available.

Some federal departments and agencies have made arrangements with Checkbook's Guide to offer online access for employees during the 2009 FEHB Open Season.
