I see. Are you by chance in the boonies of western OK? That place is a ghost town man. You better not pi$$ off the military pilots or you guys will go CTAF real quick.

I see your dilemma. I still think though that you need to provide some sort of priority to the guys going the correct direction. Especially if your where i think your at and your pointing Heavies and Larges at these little dinks trying to land.

Sorry, I meant SOP... I went back to my military days thinking about LOA's, haha.

Im at a VFR tower also, we only get a handfull of IFR operations a day but run about 260,000/year. Alot of pattern work and alot of practice instrument approaches.

Roddy, I have a buddy at Twin Falls Tower.

I'm at the "other" Falls Tower (Idaho Falls). Ask your buddy what they do at TWF with their "non-radar approach control." Do they just do timed approaches from the tower cab or something. Twin Falls is one of those places that I can't believe is FAA and not FCT. Don't quote me on this but I think Twin Falls does less than 50K a year as an FAA facility. It's a sweet gig there if u were on the green book cuz it's super slow and super cheap living.

Yes I'm definitely in the boonies but not western oklahoma.
and no larges or heavies. Almost all smalls and the occasional monstrous small+

Well I always give priority to the active rwy A/C. 99% of the time the conflict is military training pilots on practice instrument approaches (opposite direction) IFR and 2nd A/C is military/civilian VFR in line with correct runway. The civilians are always cleared to land but military always request the option. We'll have the in line A/C short final or on the rollout and the opposite direction either going around offset to right/left or MAP, both issued traffic on each other.

3 years is right about how long i'll be there, got another 2 left. You feel like you lost a step air traffic wise after that stint?
