Annual medical examination?
Posted: 12-06-2009, 11:57 PM

Hello,

I just had a simple and perhaps silly question. My medical exam for the year will be coming up in a week or so and I noticed it happens to be on one of my RDO's, are these normally scheduled for your days off? Or is it just random and can be for regular days your scheduled to work too? Just curious is all, thanks! -

If you are in the FAA, they must schedule your annual physical during "Duty Hours". If yours is scheduled on your RDO's, talk to your NATCA rep.

Yeah, what Mike said. Whoever scheduled it goofed up, it should be on duty time, it's a condition of employment - the government pays for it - and it's done on duty time.

Otherwise they would owe you some overtime for work performed on your RDO, so have a chat with either your supervisor or the NATCA rep.
