We will be jumping over to our new server this week...it will be a very nice upgrade from what we currently have and there is plenty room for growth built in....there could be some minor hiccups as we transition, so be patient and we will try to do the transition when there is the least amount of activity on the site...hopefully we won't be down for too long.

Server Specs:

Dual Intel Xeon Harpertown E5405 (8 Cores) or E5410/E5430
8 GB FB-DIMM
(3) 500GB SATAII - 7,200RPM - 32 MB Cache
Hardware RAID-5
3,000 GB Premium Bandwidth
40 IP Addresses from multiple class C blocks
WHM with WHMCS
Fantastico - RVSkin
CFS Firewall

There are always hiccups. That's the way it goes with servers and databases and ATC computers.

Always.

A site as big as this one? The Gnome has surely got a system, it will be fine.

Whenever I've switched servers that used databases I always forgot something, a slash in a path name, bad database password, wrong file or folder permissions. There is a ton of crap that can go wrong, but all easily fixable.

Yikes... that was a rough ride!

The transfer from the Phoenix to Chicago went smooth.

There was a glitch on the switchover of nameserver IPs and some users may have found the website to be down.

This would sort of be like flying from PHX... landing at ORD safely and then smacking the terminal gateway with a wingtip.

This should all be resolved. If you are reading this... that means your DNS has fully propagated. Some users may still be viewing the site on the old server.
