Hello!! No More Trolling!
Posted: 08-16-2009, 12:24 PM So, I have been looking to become an ATCer, I have been a Commerical Helicopter pilot for almost 3 years now. I have around a thousand hours in the helicopter. The problem is there are not alot of jobs opprunities right now with the helicopter field. I am way tired of being a CFII....and all the flight schools are going under because no one is training, because you cant get the Loans for it...
Sooo I have been thinking about it. Right now i am working at KADS, which is a Very busy Single runway airport right out side of the Dallas Bravo airspace....It is also a Training tower.... And I was thinking about it, it seems like it would be a fun job to do. I mean i am already well experinced with talking on the radio, and situational awareness, and i like being bossy, so why not eh? I just wanted to say Hi, and thanks for the tons and tons of information that this site provides. So I will be trying to go for the OTS, because i already have a 4 year degree in Aviation, and Flight school loans, so i do not want to go back to school for awhile. I signed up on Asap, and looked around there. Still stumbling around not exactly sure on everything or anything yet. I did have a few questions, the Written test that you need to take, is there a good program like Dauntless or ASA like the pilots have for our written tests, because i really struggle when i have to use a book.. I am still struggling on finding enough information on this Off the Street thing. And Will faclity mangers like that i am a pilot? Again Thanks!! |

Posted: 08-16-2009, 01:10 PM welcome!!! and you just missed out on PUBNAT8 (all OTS hiring is done through PUBNATS) rumor has it that there wont be another until 2010...so you're looking in the right spot, just there isnt an announcement open for OTS

VRA- prior military CTI- college OTS- off the street since you are OTS you have to wait for the new PUBNAT to drop then apply for that.. sorry any additional information about PUBNAT you are going to have to ask them. Im VRA and don't have a clue what they had to go through or even how to apply |
