ATC Wives

My husband is beginning the long process of becoming an Air Traffic Controller. He applied to PUBNAT 8 and has been authorized to take the ATSAT. He also recently toured our local radar tower at the airport and met some of the current ATCs and manager. After that visit, he decided this was an career he was extremely interested in. I am more into forums than he is and I've been lurking here for about 2 months now. I finally decided to join (on his behalf)  to post updates on his progress through this journey. I stay at home with the kids, so I have a little more time to chat on here than he does. We've found that reading other people's accounts of the process to be extremely helpful and thought it would be nice to share with future applicants what our experience has been. Also, if there are any ATC wives out there, I'd love to hear from you or know that you're out there! Right now he's just studying for the exam and we've been discussing which states we'd choose if he gets to the geo preference. Pretty much everywhere, including Puerto Rico and Alaska are on the table right now, as we're fairly flexible. I speak Spanish (and he and the kids are learning), so Puerto Rico sounds enticing. I look forward to chatting with some of you! |

There are 2 requirements to being a controller: you have to drink and be divorced. You think im joking dont you, haha. |
