Greeting from the far north!
Posted: 09-02-2009, 06:21 PM

Greetings Stuck Mic Community,

I have been scouting out the site for some time now and eventually decided to join in.
I am currently in my Aviation Law class =) but I have a 10 min break hehe.
I'm in my first year at UAA's (University of Alaska Anchorage) Aviation program to become a ATC.
A little about me:
I am 23yrs. old and born/raised in Southern California, though i have lived in many places, when i was about 13 i moved to Washington state and just recently in the past 3 years came to Alaska.
After three years of getting a AA degree in Liberal Arts in Washington State, I decided to take a break from school.
Couple of years later some of my family friends (which are ATC's) told me about their career.
Ive always had an interest in ATC ever since I was 5 but never really thought I would have a chance to become one, or felt it was out of reach. Im glad I finally decided to go for it.

First of all, Welcome to Stuckmic!!

Second... Sorry you go to a school with a SAD hockey team! Sorry, UAA and UND are in the same division so I have to talk a little smack! But welcome and GO SIOUX!

Hehe, dont follow hockey that much and I am new to Anchorage so I have no loyalty to the teams here.
Thanks for the welcoming though UNDATCer.

Welcome. There are a few SM members headed up to facilities in Alaska in the near future... maybe they'll chime in here.

You must have been in Tearnan's class? I had his class. I am from washington state, and also went to UAA. It is an awesome school...

and hockey sucks no matter where you watch it.
