Hello from the frozen US tundra.

Hello from grand forks north dakota. My name is Patrick. Im originally from Ohio. I have been interested in aviation oh since I was like 3. I started my career as a pilot. Got all my licenses through flight safety in florida. But the recent downturn in everything pilot made me reconsider my life goals. I decided to go into atc as a second choice when i made the decision to be a pilot. So far it has been much much smoother than flying. Im about to graduate from UND and have some questions on what I should start looking into before graduation and things I can look forward to once graduated.

I will be done in May 2010, and havent taken the at-sat yet. Im a little nervous about that. Plus right now my future is a complete blur. Im not sure what I can expect or do and that gets me a little anxious. So any info that might cool my jets that would be sweet.

Thanks for any info and look forward to being an air traffic controller.

PS- Im still up in the air about where I want to go. I am 28 yrs old so I have little to no time to mess about. Right now I am looking at Charleston or SC and trying to figure out another good place that is in need. I really don't have time to wait for desireable places but i don't want to go somewhere where I'll be lost in the blackhole and never leave I.E Oakland Center. any heads up with this would be super too!

hmmmm...... welcome to stuckmic... they have numerous of groups and people that went your route so you are in good company... we even have practice tests to help you prepare for the test. try looking in the employment forum and looking at staffing levels to give you a better look on where you could go... don't plan on going somewhere 90-100% staffed. not unless a good few plan on retiring
