Young dumb blond attempting ATC

Salutations,

I'm very new to "Stuck Mic" and am reading every post I can to figure out what I have signed up for. I am a 21 year old female who enlisted with the USAF. I have wanted to join for 6 years now and finally got the guts to enlist regardless of my mother's disdain. I was very lucky to score a perfect ASVAB and beg my liaison for a job as an ATC.

MEPS were not fun but well worth it. I felt like I was the only person there who viewed MEPS as a job interview. No one at that point was guaranteed a job and many spoke disrespectfully, dressed slovenly, or had little knowledge of/or respect for the branch they were attempting to join.

In my opinion Air Traffic Control is the best job one can have in the USAF. Please tell me if I am wrong! I hope to get my Certification, years and years of experience and then transfer to SFO International.

Any advice from ANYONE would be greatly appreciated. I have learned much from reading previous posts. I am very impressed by the candor shown in the posts as well.
