How many applications can you submit?
Posted: 02-14-2010, 02:56 PM I'm currently in the military and planning to put in my application sometime next month and wanted to know would I be able to submit more than one application. The reason I'm asking is because there are at least 5 states I wouldn't mind working in. From what I hear you can apply for up to 2 states.
Also, if you aren't selected after the board has convened, if possible should you resubmit your application choosing different states? Any info will be helpful thanks... |

Re: How many applications can you submit?
Posted: 02-14-2010, 03:25 PM You can only apply once for each open announcement that you qualify for.
Once a VRA announcement closes you can apply for the next announcement that comes out. |

Re: How many applications can you submit?
Posted: 02-16-2010, 03:32 AM Once you apply your application is good at least until the next fiscal year. I have heard up to 3 years but that may have been for CTI. HR schedules selection panels quarterly, sometimes delayed/canceled. You can update your application, including preferences, at any time, before or after a panel. Should you...that is up to you. You should do research and see if facilities in the states you selected plan on picking anyone up at the panels. Some managers will tell you and some will not. They may not be hiring at this panel and may plan on picking up 5 at the next. States with more facilities should have a better chance. Next panel is rumored to be as early as the end of March. They will look at your date of separation before putting you in the panel. I do not know how close it has to be to the panel date for consideration. I have seen at least one person on here say they lied about their separation date and got selected, though I believe lying on a federal application is illegal.
