How many VRA are in job pool?

even if there was 5000 vra applicants (way too high amount of vra's) only about 1/3 of them are actually qualified on something the FAA would accept. As i remember ship board controllers dont really put up that much of a fight as facsfac and cto controllers, those are the main ones the FAA looks at i'd guess... i only know a few ship controllers that got picked up, but they had cto's and other quals...

ots are a thing of the past in my opinion. there are tons of vra's and dod and cti's waiting to get in and the hiring has slowed way down, I cant see justification on hiring a ots over a vra or cti or dod controller.

Anyone know how many ATCers in the armed forces hold a CTO or Facsfac?

I think it was Rasta or Golf that suggested 2 years for another OTS, and they both know more than me.

But it may just be conjecture. Apparently they were expecting a huge retirement surge, then the economy got worse so people didn't retire as quickly? So now we are again waiting for a surge? I'm still confused, but hey, I hear ya loud and clear.

dude, there's thousands of atc'ers with quals... way too many to find out as people get fully qual'd facsfac and cto daily...

Well there's about 3000 in the airforce (includes guard reserves) and probably 700-1000 don't have quals (3levels).

The current hiring plan stated 1800 vras in job pool. Just looked it up.

hey at sct can you get overtime if you are just checked out on fd? as a trainee?

im not entirely sure, but id lean towards no. ill ask tomorrow and find out for ya.

but you do get sunday pay as a trainee and time and a quarter is better than straight time. so if your interested in the money that much dont bid for a sat/sun weekend...
