Resume help or advice please
Posted: 02-25-2010, 11:06 PM

I am about to get out of the navy and will start the ATC hiring process shortly. Any tips on preparing a good resume and other things I should have handy would be great. Thanks

Take the job announcement from faa.gov and use as many of the phrases they did in the job description on your resume. Worked for me.

Edit: Might want to ask on the VRA forum.

VRA's only for military controllers. Since he didn't mention it, I'm thinking he's just getting vet preference.

Jon -- your resume doesn't matter much. Check out the guide here for some tips.

Yeah, resume doesnt matter too much. They dont do a keyword search or anything like that. Just put the basics... airport you worked at, type of planes, runway configuration and yearly operations. Thats about all they really want to see. Also any training, supervisor experience, trainer courses... nothing too in depth
