Things are moving along.
Posted: 09-02-2010, 05:20 PM I just got a call from okc asking about my DD-214 so they are going over apps. They asked me if I had a different one because apparently mine is a member 3 not 4. I looked and sure enough somehow I have a copy 3 not 4. They have accepted the same dd-214 in the past. I hope they accept this time as well. Anybody else have a copy 3? It still has medals, awards, enter/sep dates, and honorable.

Re: Things are moving along.
Posted: 09-02-2010, 06:13 PM You need a member 4. It has your re-enlistment code on there. It is a small section at the very bottom. Probably should say RE-1A or something like that.

Re: Things are moving along.
Posted: 09-02-2010, 08:22 PM I know I'm probably splitting hairs on this one but it has my seperation code and reentry code. Is the reentry code the same the reenlistment code?

Re: Things are moving along.
Posted: 09-08-2010, 06:55 PM I got a call today as well...Sad thing is I missed the call and checked my message around 3:30 central time. Aviation Careers Division closes up shop at 4:30...begin dilemma!
The lady left a call back number and an email address. She said my DD-214 was unacceptable because it wasn't the member copy 4. So I dug up my "Official Orders" (aka separation orders) and terminal leave paper work and faxed it to both numbers and her email address...(again) Forty-five minutes later, 4:15 central time, I finally get a hold of someone at Aviation Careers Division! Information received (for the second time in a month...) 4:20, I get a hold of the lady who called me. She said I'm good to go! But, I'm VERY thankful someone took the time to identify a potential problem with my information and contact me. They could've just placed my application in the shredder... Thank you ACD! |

Re: Things are moving along.
Posted: 09-08-2010, 11:25 PM Which copy did you have? I had to email her a copy and she said I was ok. The copy I have has all the info that the member 4 has. And they have accepted that same DD-214 before when I got a TOL before I turned down amarillo. I know that was dumb to turn down a job. But it was 2008 and they were giving jobs out like candy then.

I don't have a DD-214...I faxed the DD-214 "worksheet" along with my separation orders and terminal leave paperwork. I'm still active duty as well...but not for long!

Re: Things are moving along.
Posted: 09-09-2010, 11:28 AM The latest VRA announcement that came out around August 8 I believe requires that you fax your member 4 copy of the DD 214. I believe you can also fax your separation orders if your still in. Either way you HAVE to fax something when you applied.
