How does the age limit work? Do you have to be younger than 31 when you get hired or just by the time you apply?

under 31 by the day you recieve your ToL. (temp job offer... a bit b4 you get your final offer and class dates).

I know there are a lot of variables, but what kind of timeline is normal to receive your ToL?

My DOS from the military will give me 8 months before I hit the big 3-1. Is that too tight of a timeline for those of you who have been around for awhile? Now if I throw in my terminal, I'm looking at close to 11 months.

Im not close to 31 but, I applied 6-7 months prior to DOS. Well, actually today is my last day in the AF!!!!! More importantly, it would be VERY beneficial to start making some contacts. I met with the ATM who happened to be the Regional Manager and got my first choice, which was money for me. "Who you know is better than what you know". I got a TOL 6-8 weeks after I initially applied, just waiting on the damn MMPI retake Bull$hit (thats a whole different topic. lol) to come through. You shouldnt have a problem b/c most people are waiting a while for OKC dates. Apply now and have fun checking ASAP everyday.

I would apply now but...I still have 17 months until my DOS, 14 months until I start terminal. Still a little too early don't you think?

I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before I separate. I feel like I'm taking a huge gamble leaving the military after 10 years in hopes of getting an FAA job. Hopefully my 8 month window before I turn 31 to get a ToL won't come back to bite me.
