Next vra opening???

Does anyone know when the next job opening they will be having for the FAA? Early next year or late next year? Get out in Jun 2010 and would like to have a offer before April 2010.

Just got off with the VRA apps person. No info as to when the next one is, however, a lot of folks who got picked up this time round put their terminal date in the separation area of their app. This will help for next round. You are probably like me (out in April) and wondering why you didn't get selected. The lady told me that there is a 30 day window. Meaning you are deemed ineligible unless you are w/in 30 days of seperation. Use this to your advantage and work the system next time there is a referral coming. I'm not telling you to cheat the system, but use this to your advantage.

When I went for a tour at Memphis ARTCC I was told the panels will meet next in Janruary.

So it says the next 'Close Date' for VRA applications is not until October 2010... does that mean they will not look again for an entire year? I guess I was under the impression that they accept applications atleast every quarter...? Anybody know how that works? thanks!

Good question. If I don't get something this round, it would sure suck to have to wait a year to try again.

From what I understand the way VRA and CTI applications are handled have changed a bit recently. They used to have VRA/CTI applications come out on a quarterly basis. They now have applications that stay open for a much longer period of time. So now VRA/CTI applicants are able to apply throughout the year without having to worry about missing the closing deadline. However they'll put whatever applications they have when a selection panel meets.

For example say a VRA application opens up again in Jan(Just as an example), and you apply at that time. There won't be a selection panel until April, so all applications they've received until that time will be reviewed in April. Anyone who applies after that April panel date would be included in the next selection process in August...and that process continues to repeat throughout the year.

So that VRA application will be open until Oct '10 but the FAA will most likely pull any submitted apps several times for review before that close date actually arrives. They won't look at ALL of them when it closes, but sorta filter through them throughout the year.
