The Bonus

Have a question, When I got my TOL I was eligible for the bonus under vra ( AF for 4 years) since I had to wait for over a year since TOL to get a class date I took a DOD air traffic job to make money while I wait.

My question is it says you need a 90 day break in employment if a federal employee, does that mean I would need to quit my job 90 days before my class date to get the bonus or would they even know that I am a federal employee since I got the job after my TOL was given?

I just dont know what is in the paperwork they send you for the bonus.

also what are your thoughts on leaving a GS-12 DOD AIR TRAFFIC job for the FAA?

OH you mean I dont deserve it because I got a TOL and A start date then bought a house then was told wait another year and then maybe have a job. So then had to relocate for a job to feed my family and know have 2 houses to pay for. Yeah Ill get right on sending it to hati

When I got the TOL was not really familiar with the hiring process, they told me 8 weeks and I would have a class date, wife already had a job, so going on past experience with all of the OTHER jobs I had, when someone tells you have a job and start in 8 weeks they mean it. Had I known then what I know now you can bet I would not have bought a house. But it is easy to monday morning quarter back it.

btw as far as the bonus... IF theyre stiull offering it you have to get on them every second and be very proactive about it. they try very hard in almost evey case ive heard of NOT to pay the bonus. many people have fought it through NATCA nad eventually got it
