    First Pay?

Hey guys my first day of class is March 15th, and I'm wondering how soon after will be first pay be received? I haven't received anything in e-mail or anything telling me and I'm trying to figure out how far up until my class date I should work my current job, as I don't want to be without income for too long. Thanks

On the 29th you will receive a check for 5 days.

You'll get a sheet of paper with the paydays for each month your first day of class. It was about 3 weeks after I started to get my first paycheck. It took a nearly a full month after I started to get my per diem check.

Be sure to have enough saved up to pay for a whole month's rent, groceries, and whatever supplies/outings you may want. Alternatively you can just get a FAA credit card.

You'll file for per diem on your 15th day, and every 30 days thereafter. And as a new hire you cannot get a government credit card, but you can put your housing on the governments tab if you need. I would recommend against that unless you are staying somewhere that charges the full housing allowance, because if you put it on the governments tab you don't get the keep the extra.

I know it differs but if you don't mind me asking how much do you reckon would be a sufficient amount saved for that first month?
