    Best/worst Overseas Contract Tower Locations

Was looking into possibly applying for IAP jobs, but couldn’t find any info on their locations. I understand that no one is probably allowed to give a description of their ops, but I was more curious if anyone could share info like difficulty, wash out rate, living conditions, single/parallel/intersecting rwys, light moderate or busy traffic, etc.

I’ve worked Terminal ATC for 5 years in the AF dealing with mostly fighters off a single rwy and never deployed.

Here are the current job posting, which would you choose and which would you stay away from?

Main fear would be, since I have limited experience only working at 1 single runway facility, and I know that overseas they want you rated in a month...I don’t want to apply and go out to a facility that is way too above my head in complexity that I’m not going to be able to get rated in a month at.

Here are the openings, which would you choose?
    IAP:
Jalalabad, Afghanistan / Al Asad, Iraq / Herat, Afghanistan

And I just saw KBR is hiring for LCIV in Kuwait.

I would choose Bagram, Afghanistan with Midwest if you can get an offer from them. Was a good spot and they pay more than IAP last I heard. Bagram is single runway as well and they're always having opens I feel like.

Hey thank you for your response. How’s like the pass rate? I’ve never deployed to get to experience the learning curve of controlling out there. Should I be worried at all about difficulty?

Well bagram and overseas traffic in general used to be a lot busier but the traffic isn't near what it was back in the day after the US drawed out a bit but you have nothing to lose worrying about washing out. If you washout, so be it but its not gonna affect anything else so dont worry about that. Just go and try your best.

Tried to shoot a PM but no avail. Tower contracts are not going for 150k anymore. Most are standard contract qual timeframes, 30 days give or take. The language barrier is the biggest hurdle. Most IAP spots you are also training Afghans. Not sure about the Midwest stuff.
