This was part of the fairness analysis using different grouping scenarios from the biodata that was being tested. It supports the biodata predictor over the ATSAT.

Maybe, just maybe I'm not on the offensive by stating a fact and I'm sorry you took it that way, I'm just trying to wrap my head around this entire thing and get a better understanding since no lube was initially provided. The ATSAT was the same ATSAT everyone took so I'm not sure how it was unfair and needed regulation. It's possible that there was just a bad group of testers? We are obviously all equal so I'm not sure why it's getting broken down by race/gender. Just because it's a law doesn't make it right.

Also, I have read through the document hx4it found and I honestly need to re-read it. My first kneejerk reaction was I can make a test that everyone can pass also, but how does that make anyone stand out from the crowd? I'm confident in myself and my resume but retaking the ATSAT is not going to be fun as I have not a single % point to gain but everything to lose.

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out and hopefully everyone on here will be laughing about this garbage in a year or two down the road.

I posted this on another thread but here is the short of all of this. The FAA is going back to the old style of hiring. It is fair game for everyone. Boom--done. And as far as race, or gender, or educational background-- what this hiring change does is makes it fair game for everyone. This is a good thing( except for the CTI people) because it allows anyone with the cognitive ability to pursue this career to do so. I know CTI's will bitch about this to no end, but what they need to realize is that it doesn't take a degree in anything to work traffic. It takes a certain type of person. And what this change does is open the hiring up to a broader pool of applicants who might have the so called "it" regardless of their background. I know of a former garbage man who checked out at one of the busiest towers in the world in record time. THAT is what this new bid does. Bitch all you want, but when it comes down to it-- You either can, or you cant, and a CTI degree is no measure of that. And before anyone starts trying to talk shit-- please understand I probably spent more money on my CTI degree then the entire house which contains the room you're sitting in while trying to type out a rebuttal of how and why this new hiring shit isn't fair, on. And ya know what? It didn't mean shit and I'm not bitching. End of story. I'm not saying people don't have the right to be pissed off. But, just internalize the fact that shit has changed, and move on. And if you can do THAT successfully then you are one step closer to having what it takes to be a controller. Be able to adapt to change without getting flustered. It's what you have aside from your degree which will make you successful or not. This change is a good thing for ATC. And if you know any salty old controllers they will surely agree with it because not one of them has a bullshit "CTI" degree. Suck it up, and apply, and do the best you can. Nothing in life is guaranteed.

You either have it or you don't, this speaks volumes to the benefits of a laissez faire approach to hiring.

I'm a C.T.I. student and I welcome these changes. I've had to earn everything the hard way - anything that's ever been worth having that is; I would finish eight hours of classes only to turn around and work a twelve hour shift and subsequently end up having to be up for over twenty four hours every Friday just to make my way through the program. If the F.A.A. tells me to jump my response would be "How high?", I don't know where this false sense of entitlement comes from and I don't agree with it one iota.

I'd also like to give a big shout out to HanasanAide for dropping some knowledge and clearing up this silly and misguided notion that this new assessment was some artificial racial profiling system that would somehow gloss over more qualified applicants.

Literally laughing at this....as it was stated earlier, the FAA is gonna use that to wipe the dingleberries off its ass that were left there after eating all of your collective CTI degrees for a late night drunken snack.

indy not lookin to good right now.... I'm thinking your hawks and the broncos are going all the way, assuming manning doesn't do his usual playoff routine of losing horrendously. I won't be surprised if the pats make it in, but effffff them.
