    Re: Cleveland Center - ZOB

Um, there's no way someone graduated in December and already has a class date. The only selection panel since then has been this recent one in early March, and only a few gave gotten interviewed so far from that panel. Class dates won't come for another few months at least.

    Re: Cleveland Center - ZOB

I promise you he has a class date already. There are 3 people from the December graduating class at my school that have gotten interviews, and one with an OKC date. I believe the one with an OKC date is going to Texas, and then the other two are going to Denver Center and SLC. Being my last semester we have graduates in and out talking to us about stuff and he came into my radar simulation class a week or so ago to speak. So it isn't even hearsay I actually spoke to the individual.

No matter what the deal is with him, I am just trying to find out what the hiring is looking like before 4/26/2014 specifically at ZOB.... Looking to go there hopefully since I grew up about 20 minutes away and our family farm is located in the area.

Well, for the sake of not letting an otherwise useless topic get out of control, I'll just say I respectfully disagree.

Your best bet will be to call the Center and try to talk to someone directly. All you will hear on a forum like this, is a bunch of he said-she said. I've heard they need a ton of people, but that information is hardly what I would call "helpful" coming from some random internet stranger who's discrediting your class date story. lol

They did manage to make it down to the Q list and select me this past panel, so for them to go through ALL the WQ's like that, means they're definitely hiring.

I start at OKC May 4 and will be joining ZOB in early August. Hope to see some of you there!

Lol there is no possible way somebody from this march panel already has a class date. Somebody's messing with you kiddo. 99% of us haven't even interviewed. The background investigation alone takes way longer than this.

Just passed my at-sat with a WQ, hoping to be hired on to ZOB. Can't wait for finals to be done and start applying!

The only thing i can think of is that they made it in the nov panel. either way i could only pray that it went that quickly for me.

Although it does smell like there may be a little fog blowing in and may go IFR.

ZOB is where I'd love to end up. Still have a couple years in the military. I'm from Northwest Ohio so ZOB would be awesome. Sort of close to home and a busy facility.

I've heard mixed things about people liking to work at ARTCC vs Terminal. People have said morale is generally lower in ARTCCs, but that usually comes from people who work terminal, haha. Just wondering how people who actually work at ZOB are enjoying it?

I worked radar at my last assignment and loved it, I am at a tower only base now so I'm missing the scope for sure. Maybe I'm a radar rat at heart but I think it'd be awesome to work in this facility.

    Any inputs?

Everyone I've ever talked to at ZOB usually have nice things to say about the job/facility.

Of course there are going to be a few gloomy Gus', but you'll have that anywhere.

Great place to work and live. Use your annual leave to visit the rest of the country. Lots about the facility in my earlier responses to this thread, along with Mr. Nunn's :-)

    Re: Cleveland Center - ZOB

Does anyone have any insight as to whether it would be possible for a CPC from a tracon to get picked up at a center someday. Do they like the radar experience or does it really even play a role in their decision. Just looking into it down the road for a change of pace at some point in my career, any info is appreciated

Anyone know if ZOB is planning on picking up any ERRs anytime soon?

Those of us going to ZOB keep hearing hiring numbers anywhere from 30-60 for this FY, so it seems they're hurting for people.

......as we all continue to watch other centers get multiple new hires per class date.....

They picked up 8 ERRs on the last list earlier in the summer. My advice is GO VISIT. Take the FAM. Tell them you are on the list. They need people.

All centers except for ZTL. From what I've seen on here ZTL might only have spots for like 7 or so people so far this next year Don't know how true it is or not tho

Yea, sucks there's such a long line for some centers...ZNY, ZDC, ZTL, ZMA, etc.

5 of us from the March '12 panel just got class dates for 01/10/13, so that means there's nobody in the pipeline for ZOB from previous panels. I'm sure they'll be upping the figures in the next few panels though, just glad our wait wasn't too long and painful!
