    Vectoring to Join Glidepath/Glideslope

    A. Yes you can still use 5000 between LAMAS and CAMDY provided that you are not above glidpath. B. Yes you can issue 4400 between LAMAS and CAMDY provided you are not below the mva. The glideslope in this case is 3 degrees which is roughly 300 feet per mile. The lightning bolt by 1600 at...

I work at a level 12 tracon. Do not call me for anything. I hate pointless coordination. Just switch me the aircraft.

High School Senior Stuck in the Enlistment Process

I told my recruiter in 2002 to put atc 5 times. The only way I am enlisting is with atc guaranteed. Here I am 16 years later at a level 12 tracon after my 6 year atc enlistment was up. Don't let them push you around. They don't outrank you until after you are in. Don't be intimidated...

Maintain VFR at or Above 8000

I have seen something similar happen when a callsign ends in V. For example N236V. The V in the callsign can throw off a busy controller and make them think the aircraft is vfr.

Re-identifying an A/c After a Practice Approach if Radar is Never Lost?

The purpose in saying radar contact is to advise the pilot that they are observed on radar and will now be receiving radar advisories. I would argue that the phrase needs to be stated Everytime but that you don't have to re-identify them using one of the 6 identification methods unless they...

Polite Way to Decline Radar Vectors

The class B where I work has been the same since the invention of class B airspace. We have tried very hard to get it redesigned continually since before I was here. The redesign is always shot down by the likes of AOPA and other organizations that don't want to change for the benefit of...
