What happens when I certify on the positions needed for D3. Does my pay remain unchanged since I'm already at the top of the D3 band? I have read Article 108 section 6, b2 and it seems kinda grey.

I dont have the answer but I will be in the same position shortly. I would think that since its a new facility and a new training program, you would start at 100%...where are you getting 75% from?

My wait was 15 months and I was very lucky to land a DoD gig while i waited. Have seen anywhere from 4-36 months. I cant think of anyone who wanted to go FAA that didn't picked up. Lots of people talk about getting out, but can't afford to not have that check on the 1st and 15th.

Yes, but Im just curious on how it exactly works if this announcement includes VRAs, CTI, CTO, OTS. Do the vets all get selected BEFORE any one else? Im already at a Center, just wonderings for my fellow vets.

I keep hearing how vets have first preference. I have personally been told by a District Manager that she selects vets first, then CTI. So, if they were to hire 500 from this announcement....I wonder how many would be actual OTS.

I should have said getting promoted in the DoD is waaay harder than the FAA. Get into a level 10 or higher and it would be worth it. A CPC at a level 10 will make slightly less than a GS14 with SSR and the additional 5%, but will probably make more with differentials (sunday/holiday/nights..)...
