First New ERR Panel Deadline 2/10/16

Were the two of you applying to the same facility? If not, what were the percentages for each one? We were/are Tier 1 and had two people from our facility get picked up, which brings us down to our minimum staffing number; he's going to D01, and I'm going to T75. We had at least one or two...

First New ERR Panel Deadline 2/10/16

It was the only facility where I had paperwork in. I started at SUS, am currently at STL, and it's the next logical step for me. My wife is from the area, so I will likely be here the rest of my career. And yeah, we're not sure how or why the ERR actually happened, but I can't say I'm sad that...

First New ERR Panel Deadline 2/10/16

I've been told by my ATM that I'm the one going to T75; just waiting on the offer letter. The weird part was that the only reason my ATM knew was because T75's ATM called and told him what was happening. Evidently, the receiving facility knows, but the losing facility doesn't.

A Farewell, Warning, and ATO Mole

They've been reading for years. When I was in the hiring process and went to the PEPC in New York back in 2009, I had posted where I was staying, offering to eat breakfast with anyone that had the same start time as me, and said what I'd be wearing (since none of us knew each other). When I was...

    Breaking: CTI Class Action Lawsuit

Forgive me if you responded to anything earlier, because I didn't really look at usernames of those that replied to this thread, but my comments were directed at those that actually wanted this lawsuit and those that are fighting to say this is justified. That's why it says "these entitled...

    Breaking: CTI Class Action Lawsuit

PUBNAT4 (way back in '08), BS in Information Systems, and I beat out other CTI kids in that announcement, which was also open to CTI grads... so it is possible. Yeah, no. But you are right in that these entitled brats need to shut up, especially since they haven't even seen if they're going to...

    Lasik rocks

I had WaveFront LASIK done in April here in St. Louis, and I was 20/20 the next day. At the one week follow-up, I was 20/15, and I still am after 6 months. I had a "prescribed" 6 hour nap when I got home, after which I woke up and could see fine. A little hazy, but that cleared up within 24...

We never really know who's actually hiring, since the ATO is the only one that really determines who is hiring. I think we're technically all overstaffed, but that hasn't stopped anyone from getting new people. I remember the frustration of waiting; it took a year and a half from the time I got...

Right now, we no longer have any trainees (unless you count CIC-IT). We have two that certified in the last two months, and now we're all CPC. As a result and by FAA metrics, we have 16 and are overstaffed by 6, if I remember the numbers correctly. Two mandatory retirements happen next year...

All we've heard is that the Academy is probably being slowly returned to "The Screen" method that they had in the 80s, where you can expect fewer people actually making it through. The number of developmental washouts is costing the FAA a lot of money, and they need to get the number of truly...

Even though I'm on the other side of the state, the time that trainees are requested by the facility compared to when they actually receive them is often a while. I know we requested three new people a year ago and got one. The facilities don't know if/when they'll receive someone; it's all up...

    Employment Verification

Your current employer WILL get contacted; there's no way around it. If you want the job, it's just a risk you have to take. My boss (at the time) got the letter and saw the return address was from the Federal Government, and it freaked him out. Luckily, I had picked up the mail for the...

If you get picked up anywhere, it could be a while before you get a class date. I talked to an instructor at the Academy today who said that people were still reporting 2-3 year wait periods. Granted, there are some that get in quicker, and I congratulate them on somehow beating everyone else...

    Failing the PV

Seemed like a condescending tone after the, "If this guy can make it," post; as though I got selected for SUS, a small level 6 (now 5) VFR tower, because I had the potential to make a simple mistake that had no way of harming passengers. Apologies if that's not how you meant it.

SUS has picked up three people in the last two years. From the way the sups talk, they're still submitting to HR to get at least one or two more because of our impending retirees (which are all staying till they're kicked out, it looks like). We're tremendously overstaffed at the moment though...
