The colgan crash happened partially because the captain was tired from his other job to afford food and housing

Had nothing to do with pulling back on the yoke in a stall and the dumb FO next to him
just panicking and slapping the flaps up... Both pilots were well over 1500TT.... Stupid the "1500hr rule" got
put into place.... What's the difference between a CFI with 600-700TT or 1500TT??? I'll tell ya, it's about 800-900hrs of ripping up pattern in a C172, doing power on/off stalls, and flying to the same practice area everyday.... Rant over, now if you'll excuse me I have to go back into the DYSIM to get my ass kicked by fake airplanes.

That was found to be a partial cause yes, but basically they failed to realize their airspeed had gotten so low and that they were in a stall, and then did the exact opposite of what you're supposed to do to recover and made a recoverable situation into an unrecoverable one. I think iirc the female pilot had also failed a number of check rides or something like that. Something similar happened with the Air France flight that crashed on its way to Brazil. The high hour Captain was relieved by lower hour crew with low hour first officer, didn't notice airspeed dropping, aircraft stalled, pilots pulled up and made it worse. You should read the final reports for both crashes. Scary chit.

Private Pilot 101 on what not to do during a stall. Yikes.
