This section is explained in detail on the test. Practice time will be given for this section of the test. The computer screen is the radar screen. There will be planes on the screen moving in different directions at different speeds. Each plane will have a data box next to it. The data box consists of a call sign on top and its speed below the call sign. The call sign will be a letter followed by two numbers. There will be a speed range at the bottom of your screen. You have to eliminate all planes out of this range and ignore all planes in the range given. To eliminate a plane, you type in just the two number designation from the call sign and press enter. The plane will change color and then disappear. Be aware of the range at the bottom changing. It will randomly change about 4 or 5 times during the test. Planes will appear and disappear on your screen (they do not just come from the sides of the screen). The score is based on accuracy and speed.
Example: Your screen shows 5 planes: N24/300, G15/250, N60/310, L71/460, N11/340. The range given is 270-330. You will want to type in 15, hit enter; 71, hit enter; 11, hit enter.
