    Time to resurrect this thread!
    I am not a controller, just a pilot. I joined so that I can read some posts and know what the controllers are going though sou I can better understand.

    I go flying too, mainly just trips for breakfast on the weekend before I go in to the tower.

    A little late to this party- but there are scholarships out there to keep you flying. WAI, AOPA, EAA have some. And if you want cheaper planes you can always try to join civil air patrol. If your in an accredited aviation program in college there are always more options though... My IRA and now my CPL are being paid by scholarships
