    Closed Runway Procedures

Yes, an altitude restricted low approach can be conducted over a closed runway...doesn't matter the reason for why the runway is closed. You don't need to tell all personnel that low approaches will still be conducted. The airport authority should have already told them because your facility...

Tower to Tower IFR Clearance Under Same Class B

Try having the ground/clearance controller file a flight plan for you...tell them you want "a local IFR flight plan to XXX, if you're able to type that in." It's really no different than giving someone flight following.

Tower to Tower IFR Clearance Under Same Class B

Re: Tower to Tower IFR Clearance - satellite airports If there aren't any TEC routes published for your airports, there's no need to worry about it. If you ask the ground/clearance controller, in all likelihood they'll be confused about what you want if there's nothing published.

    Wake Turbulence Timers?

Probably where if it starts at 2 minutes or 3 minutes, and then beeps...pressing the stop/cancel/reset button stops the alarm and resets it to the time amount that was last used. Press the "add minute" button twice then would change a 2 minute timer to 4 minutes. To reset it to zero, press the...

    Wake Turbulence Timers?

Got some friends still at the facility, they're still using those timers. Have them at the ground and local positions.

    Wake Turbulence Timers?

Basically. Two lines with one timer on each line. Either could be set to 2 or 3 minutes with the appropriate button. I think they were tan and green. Maybe a cancel button in there too? Pushing the button in puts the appropriate time on the display, and then when the button is released is when...

    Wake Turbulence Timers?

The region's timers...Sometimes had to hold the 2/3 minute button for it to start correctly. Seemed to start at 2 minutes even when the 3 minute button was pushed unless you either held it for longer or wiggled it. Haven't tried any timers other than those. Other facilities didn't have...

Opposite Direction Operations to Parallel Runways

All airports with FAA oversight...includes contract towers. Military fields, worked by military approach...I'm not sure. The classification of only applying at the 139 airports isn't true though.

If it was me, and I wanted to include that in the experience section, I'd just list it as DOD or FCT.

Got Slam Dunked on an 80 Mile Final

It was an RNAV approach with a TAA?

Got Slam Dunked on an 80 Mile Final

Probably. For pilots, for future reference, it's important to ask/request for what you want.

Got Slam Dunked on an 80 Mile Final

You were direct to the IAF, so it wasn't being used as the IF unless you were on one of the transitions from another, further out, IAF. With the holding pattern being published, you not being on radar vectors, not conducting a timed approach, and the approach plate doesn't say "No PT" from the...

Opposite Direction Operations to Parallel Runways

Well that's just insane. Who has a cutoff that far out?

Got Slam Dunked on an 80 Mile Final

Is there a holding pattern published at the IAF? If you weren't cleared for the "rnav straight-in runway 31 approach" you were supposed to do the HILO full procedure which would have given you plenty of time, I'm assuming, to make the descent. If there really was no other traffic or terrain...

Opposite Direction Operations to Parallel Runways

12 miles is ridiculous. It doesn't matter whether it's fixed or rotor wing by default, unless your facility has different requirements depending on category/class of aircraft.

Opposite Direction Operations to Parallel Runways

I'll look tomorrow, but I've got a picture or definition from the FAA about ODO. It shows that 10 miles is when ODO starts. It's not the minimum, but it should be impossible to have a cutoff that's more than 10 miles away. I know of facilities that have 5 and 4 mile cutoffs.

FAA NO EXPERIENCE "OTS" 2019- Planned June 14-17

Extremely slim chance you'd be able to get another chance. But there's also no effort involved in submitting another application and just seeing what happens.
