Original subject: Any Word on the Next Announcement?

Anyone have any insight as to when the next announcement is going to be?

I heard March too, but the fact all these Jan/Feb guys are getting called to to OKC now with 2 weeks notice makes me think they might be running out of candidates and initiate the next announcement a little earlier

Forgive me for stating/asking the obvious, Psyko, but it would appear, then, the next hiring bid will be a rehash of the last with some possible modifications? Not 100% sure because I don't speak Governmentese.

Definitley not running out of candidates... In fact, they're backed up ... And also might even be shut down again :/

Re: Any Word on the Next Announcement?

The draft AHR business plan doesn't specify the methods to be used in the next announcement cycle, just the timeframe for conducting the next announcement cycle. The "long-term" plan might include actually conducting 2 announcements by the end of March 21015: one for applicants with prior ATC-specific experience (e.g., VRA, RMC, Reinstatements, DoD, & CTO), and one open to everybody/anybody (including those with prior experience if they should choose to apply). As to the details of biographical assessments or not, AT-SAT or not, etc., the business plan is silent.

Re: Any Word on the Next Announcement?

Does anyone know what their game plan is??? are they sticking to off the street or back cti's/cto's??
I went to beaver a few years ago and had issues with my flying and financial aid. I was sick of jumping thro their hoops. My plan was go Air Force until I found out about the of the street hiring which that clearly didn't work out. Now I'm considering of finishing up school to get my CTI just to be sure.

Re: Any Word on the Next Announcement?

Rumours seem to be floating around of a VRA/CTO bid Jan or Feb. But again these are just rumours that I have heard.

I wouldn't bother to finish the CTI training if I were you. This process is very unstable and chances are you will be wasting more money. Either wait for another OTS bid in 2016, and finish your flight training at a local flight school for the low.

Re: Any Word on the Next Announcement?

Well yea if in 2015 a VRB/CTO is coming out then there probably won't be one until the next year, that is OTS again.
This is how rumors get started and why we can't have nice things.

You know where.
Re: Any Word on the Next Announcement?

Anyone who goes back to school to finish CTI at this point is wasting their money. I will continue to say that unless the FAA starts tracking who graduates from CTI programs again. I just graduated and was in the middle of a CTI program -- my name is not on any FAA list. Even if they go back to tracking CTI grads again I doubt they'll put me on a list anyway. Cynical? Yeah.

If you like aviation go get an aviation management degree, work at some airports and hope ATC comes thru for you. If ATC doesn't work out at least you'll have an education.
