If it's anything like the one from this year then you apply as normal, go through the process, get sent a survey on your experience then they send you a list of facilities to rank and then get an fol for one of them. Could be your first pick or your last. Report directly to the facility from there and start training.

So when applying for the prior exp bid, do military have to provide a DD214? I'm >120 days away from separation.
In lieu of a DD-214, you can use a Statement of Service (or something similar to this depending on your branch) to verify that you are going to be getting out. It basically is a notarized paper addressed from your command to the FAA aviation careers with your name, rank, date of entry into active service, your projected date of separation, and your projected type of discharge.

I used a statement of service signed by my commander. It has the date you entered and your separation date. It also needs your type discharge. (Honorable, general, etc). I put the date I was expected to start terminal leave as well. PM me your email and I might be able to send it to you.

That's solely for veterans preference tho you can apply even if your eas is more than 120 days out

I've had an active ERR out to DAB for a few months. Already accepted an offer from a way better facility, but ya gotta love the fact that the FAA would blatantly place new hires at a L9 when there's someone who's already a certified controller with paperwork in to there.

oh don't you start that now. He's a new hire but still has more experience than you do. Plus if I recall you were trying to get DAB as a new hire.

Typically its just a paper with your branch of service letter head, filled out with start date, eaos and expecting honorable discharge filled out by your personnel office. After whom ever fills it out, they have someone above them that is allowed to sign it stating that its true. It not a special form or anything.

What is the quickest anyone off this bid actually started at a facility. My friend started in June sometime. I just signed a 6 month lease and if I were to get picked up on this new bid I was wondering if anyone got assigned quicker than 6 months

Personally know quite a few folks that got their final offer calls with start dates that they could not meet. FAA more than willing to work with them on a start date. And the folks I know picked-up last time averaged 7-9 months from first notice to start date.

Yea that's the time frame I'm thinking but I would easily pay the last month or two on a lease if I left early....
