I'm wondering, what's an average day like? As far as hours involved, instructor interaction, etc... I'm used to the military method of cramming the students full of useless information for 9 hours, 2-3 hours of studying, followed by an insanely difficult test, and if you're lucky one chance at re-testing.. I just read on a previous thread that there is about a 12% washout rate, which doesn't sound too high.

Still waiting for more openings to pop up, I might be here a while! :banghead:

From the enroute side the typical schedule was show up at 7am go to breakfast, get rolling around 7:30am, do a powerpoint or two, take a end of the lesson test that means nothing, and then go to lunch for "30 minutes" cough cough. Mixed in with that powerpoint was a 15 minute break every hour...after lunch the same thing ending at about 3:15 and waiting around to leave at 3:30. There are like 2 tests through academics that were exactly from the end of lesson tests and you had 2 shots to score the tough score of 70...very easy. Academics was simple then you move to the labs and do about 6 runs a day with 30 or so minute breaks between them and a lunch. Same schedule for radar/non-radar really. After non-radar you go back to academics for 2 weeks approx. You take a PV- performance verification at the end of the lab time and that is pass/fail for radar only (for now). The PV is really up to the examiner on how picky they are I have heard people fail for minor things and pass when doing major things wrong. But, its pretty simple, you take the lab time to learn how to do the D-Side well and then do that come PV time and you will not fail.

Thanks! Doesn't sound bad at all. So far all I've heard is stupid comments like "Why would you want to do that, it's too stressful", or "You know that has a really high washout rate"... But obviously the only experience they've had is staring up at the tower :p

Is OJT about the same? I'm guessing as long as you put forth some effort and have a good attitude it's pretty manageable, right?
