Might as well start this thread now. The next prior experience bid will be out April 28th until May 5th (according to Natca's Twitter) and only open for EIGHT days. If you haven't already, get in USAJobs and build a profile. It is highly recommended to use the resume builder provided so that you are less likely to forget required information. The absolute key is to READ THE BID! It will list required documents, require experience, etc. Read the bid carefully to verify you are eligible before applying.

I will update this post and add the link to the bid when it becomes available on the 28th.

Rumor is they want to get them in ASAP so they can get CILs before the 2.14 and 2.24 TOL group from the August bid.

I'll be applying to this announcement. Putting in a package for non-competitive CPC reinstatement as well.

Does anyone know how long they reserve slots for current military members?
I had a buddy who applied to the last OTS bid. He was about 160 days from separation. They gave him a TOL. Than about 3 days later they took it back cause he wasn't within 120 days when he applied, even though he was about a week from separation when he got the TOL.

Best of luck to you all tomorrow on this bid. Has anyone heard anymore rumors of an OTS bid coming up?

FAA to Hire Experienced Professional Air Traffic Controllers
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be accepting applications from candidates who have maintained at least 52 consecutive weeks of full time air traffic control experience and air traffic certification or air traffic control facility rating in a civilian or military air traffic control facility. The job vacancy announcement for experienced air traffic control specialists opens on Friday, April 28, 2017, 12:01 a.m. and will be open for eight days.
The job vacancy announcement will be posted on USAJobs.gov and it provides details about eligibility and the required qualifications. Military controllers who are active must be within 120 days of discharge. The FAA encourages applicants to ensure they meet all criteria before beginning the online application process.
The vacancy announcement is open to candidates who have maintained at least 52 consecutive weeks of air traffic control experience involving the full-time active separation of air traffic after receipt of an Air Traffic Control certification or facility rating within five years of application while serving at:
• A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic control facility; OR • A civilian or military air traffic control facility of the Department of Defense; OR • A tower operating under contract with the FAA under section 47124 To learn more, click https://www.faa.gov/jobs/ Additional information regarding these positions is located at: http://www.faa.gov/jobs/job_opportunities/airtraffic_controllers/
Later this summer, the FAA plans to post a separate vacancy announcement for air traffic specialist trainees, and the announcement will be open to all citizens.
Follow our official FAA social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram for more information.

I wonder if they differentiate between terminal leave and actual separation date. I have a friend that's applying to this bid, he starts terminal leave 90 days from now, but his actual separation date is more than 120. Does he have a shot?

That was my situation on the Sep prior bid. I was on terminal within 120 days but separation date at 147 days. I submitted my authorized terminal leave paperwork along with everything else. I was referred but not selected.

Wow that sucks. Especially since the whole process takes about 6 months. I'll pass the word along, thanks.

Anyone who apply find it way more simplified than the previous few bids? Everything was a yes or no check-in-the-box. No more decription on what you were qualified to use. This was all on the aviator questionnaire.
