About the Position: CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Possession of a Federal Aviation Administration Control Tower Operations Certificate or a Certificate of Grades is a requirement to fill the position.

This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Major Duties:
Conducts student training involving any and all aspects of the Army Training Center (ATC) responsibilities, operations, and procedures. Conducts initial academics in classroom setting using developed lesson plans, examinations, and practical exercises. Will pertain to both tower and radar.Conducts training involving control tower operations. This instruction involves operation of the Data Automated Tower Simulator (DATS). Will load target and weather scenarios, and manipulate aircraft targets thru the use of Unix and X Window. Conducts training involving ground controlled approach and approach control. Will use target control unit to manipulate scenarios related to program of instruction objectives.Applies a combination of instructional methods and techniques including conference/lecture, demonstration, practical exercise, seminar, programmed instruction, and computer assisted operational training.Reviews lesson plans, instructor guides, course materials, references/ training aids.

# General Schedule SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equal to at least GS-07 level in the Federal service, which involved providing student training in tower and radar operations. This experience must have demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: (1) Knowledge in conducting student training involving any and all aspects of ATC responsibilities, operations, and procedures. (2) Supervising or administering a training program. (3) Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
