Calling all reinstatements!

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have the Reinstatement process any more streamlined than the others. The main holdup for me was they kept trying to find me a date for OKC, but I didn't have to go back out there. Once they figured that out and gave me my facility start date, it had taken 6 months. Hopefully things have changed since then (started last August) and it's faster now.
I've also heard from other reinstatement applicants that they are not getting picked up as fast as once thought. My suggestion is to call the facility you want to go to, and try to work something out with the Manager. I know for a fact that's what helped me.

Yeah, you will still have to wait for a panel. No matter how much pull a manager has, they can't wave their magic wand and *POOF*. What will happen is they will tell whatever manager is the ATO representative for the panels and tell them to pull your name. (I even called the ATO rep to make sure my name was fresh...lol). I don't know about incentive pay.
incentive pay is only for certain facilities, 10 percent bng the highest and the most have a lower rate, its a numbers game, sct is like 7.4

I'm a 33 year old DoD controller. From what I understand as long as your initial appointment was sub-31 you are good.
I made referral lists in CO and MN which have since been closed. I was told by Alison in OKC to contact managers to let them know I am available for hire on Reinstatement inventories, but am having a difficult time contacting managers. Some of the contacts I am making are referring me to Regional HR...which is far from helpful, IMO. Anyone have any ideas?

The way I read the announcement you don't need to be a CPC you just need the 52 consecutive weeks.
The reinstatement process is a very slow one. It does seem to me that some people aren't wanting to hire reinstatements. Kinda like black listing them because they left the FAA in the first place. Good luck to you. I hope everything works out!!!

I am a former FPL controller who resigned to travel the world and make a fist full of cash in a particularly sandy, oil rich local. With all the travel done and the money earned (and with $20k waiting on the other side) I am applying for reinstatement. Currently waiting on the next panel which I understand to be in April.
Anyone else looking for reinstatement? Anyone further down the pipe that can let me know how this is supposed to go?
Yeah this sucks. I left the faa a year and a half ago due to the pay/contract issues. I've bee a contractor overseas ever since. I've been trying to go back to the facility that I left, and they since hired 4 others in my place making them "overstaffed". Now I'm stuck. I've tried the Facrep routes with no luck. Anyone know of any facilities that are understaffed where I might be able to contact an ATM and get picked up. At this point, I dont care if its enroute or terminal I wind up at anymore. I'm a former tower CPC.
Just wanted to make sure you saw the two new Reinstatement bids out. Have you had any luck in your journey of being reinstated?
I ALMOST put in a bid when they had an announcement open. I just couldn't justify living the life of an Ice Road Trucker making a 1/4 of the money and and living in a shanty.

I put in for the reinstatement bid that came out in September, waited for the panel, to find out it was just for DOD people. I called Oklahoma city, they said another, non-DOD bid was coming out in spring 2011.
Has anyone else heard the same thing?
