17 officially? How many of those get combined up into other positions?
I'm at an up/down, and the tracon has 10 radar positions, plus the coordinator spots, that is almost always combined up into 3 scopes. Then when it's slow, combined to 2 scopes.
In reality we have 9 radar positions, in addition to 3 handoffs, 2 coordinator spots, and 2 flight data positions but many of those radar positions change with the flows, so they become a totally different position when the flow changes, and you have to certify separately for both flows, so that's how we get that many. Due to staffing, some positions are always combined.
