I am worried that I am becoming depressed due to being away from family and home. I haven't settled into the area I'm in and I've been here for two years. Could I legally say that I fear I am ****BECOMING**** depressed on a hardship transfer? I've tried ERRing and made many trips to facilties back home to the point where they all know me by face. Not sure what to do at this point. Considering quitting regardless of how much I love the job. :(

UWilco,

I am sorry to hear of your difficult situation. Have you spoken with your NATCA facility representative for advice and counsel on how to handle your situation, particularly in light of how sequestration may have affected transfers thus far?

Your rep can also advise on the particulars of the Red Book contract and what would and would not qualify for grounds for a hardship transfer.

It's been done if your spouse is suffering from depression. You need to be super careful with throwing around the D word if you are a controller though.
