I was hoping I had a slim chance for my honeymoon lol. Since the TOL said "start" timeframe Jan-Mar, I was hoping that meant they stagger us throughout that timeframe if there are a lot of people in our group.

And this isn't Cody haha.

Not looking forward to the pay cut. I haven't really sat down yet to see how much i'll have coming in after the cost of living down there for 3 months. Haven't heard anything after signing the TOL and sending in. Sounds like we won't hear anything until we just get the remaining forms to fill out, which I read someone thinks the first group gets their FOL beginning of August so that means we should get paperwork beginnning of august at least.

I am in the same boat as you in regard to getting married and having my honeymoon, except, I'm a full TOL holder (June 28) for terminal and I'm getting married in October and have my honeymoon right after.

I have not heard anything in regard to how or if they will accommodate this kind of thing. I have emailed my HR rep but have yet to get a response about it. I, like yourself, would hate to have to turn down a class date.....

I'll be there too :)

CTI grad from Pheonix AZ. Really hoping to end up at ZLA or any of the So Cal towers.

It would be nice to live relatively close to the beach haha.

I plan to drive out to OKC. Don't plan on staying at Kims or any of those other places though. I could probably find a full on house to live in for the money that they want for Kim's place. It's cheap to live in OKC.

Do you still get the full per diem?

Just as an FYI, they are not validating whether or not they got your PTOL acceptance sheet because of the volume that they are receiving of them. The woman that I was on the phone with said that they will give you a call if they have not received your sheet and that you will not fall out of the process just because they have not received your sheet. I don't know if that is in other threads because I haven't really read them due to the large amount of people posting. Ha! But anyways, congrats everyone!

Crazy coincidence then haha. I have a co-worker who got en-route Jan-Mar as well as I and we both live in Indianapolis.

Ive only been here a year and a half or so but don't particularly want Indy center. Don't get me wrong, I'll take anything and be happy (for the most part...screw ZMP ZOB and Guam) but I'm from the desert side of Washington and never want to experience a winter like I just went through a.k.a. 80 inches of snow and -30 degrees frequently.

Human beings aren't supposed to live in places like this.

Based on other posts, yes. In fact a lot of guys from older bids have recommended not staying at Kims or isolla bella because you can find cheaper places. I'd think the problem would be the short lease in regard to finding another place though. I wish I knew guys going down at the same time though, surely a cheap one or two br apartment can be had on a short term lease for closer to $300 per person/3 people per apartment.

Edit:quote didn't work. Responding to sir Mario and amgarc17

My wife has been doing some digging and there is a complex (cambridge landing) right across from the academy pretty much that has efficiencies for 450, the shortest lease is 4 months and there is a 100 up charge for that length, but even paying for an extra month, you still come out WAY ahead.

Yeah you will, as long as you don't loose per diem, i could have sworn since i have been on here for over 2+years i read somewhere that if you don't use the FAA approved locations you don't get full per diem but i am not sure of this. They lower your per diem based on the cost of your housing...since you have to provide proof of cost that is how it would work if you dished out the first month at Kims of IB...not sure though...

I was just going off some threads I read that dated back as far as 2009. Possible that things could have changed, but I don't really want to bug HR about it just now.

FAA Academy Student Services

This says you do not have to stay at one of the places on their website, they do not endorse any specific place and says nothing about per diem being reduced.

Edit
And then this:
If you choose to apply the lodging charges to your personal credit card, you will not be included in the credit card payment process. If you will be at the Academy for at least 16 class days, you will receive a total of $93.80/day for lodging, meals, and incidentals, regardless of your lodging cost. You must submit a valid receipt for your lodging expenses. You may submit a travel reimbursement voucher 15 days after arriving at the Academy and monthly thereafter. I was looking into Providence Place..seems a little expensive, but they're nice..and about 7 minutes from the Academy.
I'm pretty sure that is where I stayed when I went through before. It is nice and convenient to the academy but you would need a car.

Edit: Not where I stayed
