On August 6 I hit my 2 Year anniversary.
Here is what I've done so far as an SSC NavCom tech.

-Common Principles (2 months including transmission lines/antennas)
-IVSR voice switch EHOT/DOP (1 month)
-ILS Concepts( 2week, no transmission lines/antennas) Clean testing
-SELEX DME EHOT/OJT/P-exam (2 weeks)
-SAWS weather OJT/P-exam
-RTDS radarOJT/P-exam
-NAV Concepts( 2week, no transmission lines/antennas) Dirty testing
-2nd Gen Vortac EHOT/DOP (1 month)
-COMM OJT/P-exam
-VSBP OJT/P-exam
-NDB OJT/P-exam

Made H at 1 year and 5 months with 1 major and 3 minor certs.

I am leaving for Oklahoma on July 14 for my final required class Mark 1 ILS(2 weeks), and then for the DALR (1 week) which is a non certifiable system.

So at roughly 2 years I finished my required schools. But, now my SSC manager took an early retirement so they merged my SSC and my neighboring SSC under their manager. That being said, both SSCs will continue going to Oklahoma to help cover down.

So those that think school ends after 2 years are sadly mistaken, at least in my case. Luckily the schools I know I need to cover down are 2 weeks or less, but if I decide to cross train into environmental or radar, I know they have schools as long as 3 months.
