Supposedly there is going to be a OTS bid for FAA Alaska Flight Service opening "soon". Currently there is a bid open for people with previous FSS experience (https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ato/service_units/systemops/fs/alaskan/hiring/atcs_fss_info/). If anyone has any questions about FSS in Alaska, let me know.

Well FSS in Alaska is a good time 2152 job, so that is great. A lot of people don't understand what we do, but basically we are a weather heavy, air traffic lite kinda job. If you don't care for tons people or traffic, Alaska is great. I have been all over the world, and Alaska is the most jaw dropping beautiful place I have ever seen. As long as you are open to new experiences and can tolerate a little cold, it is awesome.
I’m working on getting a CTO and would love to work in Alaska. How likely will a place pick me up with little experience?
Not sure if anyone will see this, but I got a TOL for Fairbanks FSS. I applied last year in both the ATC and this FSS bid. I was just contacted this morning and was told the details of what the assignment was. Honestly this seems like a job I would love. I wouldn’t have applied otherwise. I’m curious about how things “actually” are. I am working on figuring out if this will be a feasible move for me. If anyone wants to reach out or refer me to someone to speak to let me know.
