If they ever send me to an Army base I'm demanding substandard living allowance and hardship pay...I'll need something to offset the extra drinking...

It is absolutely true that the majority of enlisted Airman have higher standards of living than enlisted soldiers though. You know what they say about how the USAF builds a base--first the O-club, then the golf course, then the E-club, then they go back to congress and tell them they ran out of money so they need more to build the runways.

When you army guys were new to base, how many people did you live with? I had my own room and shared a kitchen and shower with 1 other person. Fortunately I only spent 6 months in the dorms and have lived off base the rest of the time.
