Isn't that one of the places the FAA is doing all the new UAS testing around? I'm sure its related to that if that's the case.
yes and yes. not the smartest move considering the amount of traffic we work in a limited airspace.

Word around DOD is that GF is one of the worst places to work
Lol.... That is because our bathroom has an average temperature of -40, so you have to hold your shit in for 8 hours at work.

Nellis AFB
This job says its an airspace one, however, airspace experience isnt listed as a requirement. Anyone know whether they'll take you without?

BTW says in posting you will get facility rated

Trust me, you absolutely won't set foot in the either ATC facility. I never once met or saw the last guy who held this position. The listing is very sketchy.

Well is Grand Forks a crap place to live/work? I dont get what the issue would be aside from it being somewhat remote.
Aside from it is -70 wind chill right now, always covered with snow 6 months out of a year, biggest attraction being walmart, mcdonalds and Burger King are competing for the finest dinning spot in town, housing price is through the roof, if u get sick and need to see a specialist who know what they are doing, u will have to drive an hr to Fargo. It is not so bad. Oh yeah, there's only 2 seasons here, winter and spring/fall.

Its the air force, so they probably have somebody in mind for the position already. However, it is listed as a 2152 position. So if you are close to aging out, it would lock you into a 2152 position before you turned 31.

What's up everyone (Moose, House, Brownie)? Too bad this isn't an ATC job. It wouldn't be so bad to come back to Grand Forks and work the RAPCON again, especially with civ pay. It would be better than whatever this FAA clusterfuck is going to be.

If a slot opens up up there, and you guys need a mid supervisor again, hit me up! :)

Can some tell me about Grand Forks DOD? Is the RAPCON and tower two different positions or is it an up/down? What is the pay?

Thanks.
