I Feel the Need to Give My Opinion on Housing to Clear Things Up for New People...

My class started a Facebook group here under the academy dates section. Through the group I found someone that wanted to not get ripped off like myself so we share a 2 bedroom apartment at Anatole. We went through them directly because the leasing companies charge full FAA per diem.

It is $1100 a month for a 4 month lease on a 2bedroom + about $130 in bills a month. We bought our own furniture off Amazon for $350 each(memory foam queen, chairs, table, couch, apartment dishes and cooking set). The furniture rental company wanted $300+ per month for that. We didn't want to worry about anything breaking that's why we just bought stuff.

We have 5 total at Anatole, 2 going through the leasing company and their apartments are the nicest out of every classmate.

Anatole is on the shuttle list but only the isola guys use the shuttle. The rest of us drive and car pool...on test days we all kind of drive together in a fleet in case anyone has car problems they can bail and ride with someone else.

Isola bella is pretty shitty. In Houston an apartment like isola bella would be about $600 a month for their 2 bedroom. It looks run down, and the class mates say 9/10 times the food is awful with exception of breakfast, supposedly that's pretty good. They do offer the car for 2 hours if you don't bring one, but we give rides to the isola guys anyways since 90% of us brought cars.

Kim's place(mustang). Holy hell I'm glad I didn't stay at kims! She is charging the married people $81 a day for half of a furnished duplex. The furniture is okay and all but it's tiny. The duplex is probably smaller than my apartment square footage wise. The people that are staying 3 to a house have to deal with alternating schedules with roommates from different classes, even terminal mixed with en route. One house has 3 from our class but that's the only one. It is kinda cool to be on a street with only academy people as you can find help from people in classes in front of you, but I've made friends with those people anyways. By my guesstimations Kim is grossing roughly 3.5mil a year, wow she's smarter than all of us! If her price was $25~ a day I'd call it worth it but the extra $420 a month she charges is a rip off. I thought for the $39 a day you were at least getting a full sized 3 bedroom home...nah it feels like a tiny furnished apartment. Much better than Isola though for sure. If I don't make it through the academy I want to start up a student housing for the academy like Kim but actually charge a reasonable price not based on the $59 a day we get for lodging, but just a reasonable price for how cheap Oklahoma City real estate is.

If money is truly no option for you AND you don't get annoyed by roommates easily, just stay at kims. If you can't manage your own bills and signing up for services etc., It's easier staying at Kim's. I wouldn't say it's any better than studying over Anatole though, I walk 2 apartment buildings over and can study with 4 people from my class.

I wouldn't tell anyone to stay at isola bella, truly some old cruddy apartments in a ghetto part of town, they don't get to study with us very often because it's so far away and Everytime we do a group outing it's always so far away from them. Plus they wake up an hour earlier than us everyday.

My purpose of making this thread is because I couldn't find out crap about Anatole before picking it. It's only a 7min drive to the academy! It's so close and pretty nice. The lounge, free printing and computer station, and pool are all nice bonuses! From all my reading I almost picked isola over Anatole and that would have been a huge mistake. And my reading also lead me to believe staying at Kim's would help my chance of passing, but I can confirm that's not true in anyway.

Post any questions and I'll try to answer as best I can. Maybe I can get you guys real pictures of all 3 if anyone's interested. I wouldn't recommend staying at a random Craigslist place by the way.

Also if it matters, internet is pretty bad at Kim's and isola. 18mbps but my speed tests showed closer to 10mbps. If you stream there's a lot of buffering with more than 1 person. We just got Cox 100mbps at Anatole, it's awesome.

Hey thanks! I’ve read all sorts of conflicting information about housing overall...but Anatole is on the top of my list. Are there major differences betweeen North and South complex’s at Anatole? I’ve read a lot of bad reviews on google about the apartments but Academy students usually only have good things to say. I was wondering if it had to do with which complex you stay in.

I stayed at Kim's Place years ago and it was excellent. Yeah my classmates we're terminal and I was RTF but it didn't matter. When we had the same class time we still carpooled. Everyone gets their own bedroom, and two of the three people get to park in the garage (the person with the master bedroom -attached bathroom, backyard Access- does not park in the garage). Then there is a shared kitchen, living room, and laundry. You are surrounded by Academy students of various levels so there is always someone who can help you or tell you what to expect next.

Yeah, Kim's place is great. Would recommend that to anyone over all the other options.

I moved out of Anatole North a couple weeks ago. The south side is much newer (probably only a couple years old if that). The North side was probably built 15 years ago so you aren’t getting the nice amenities such as granite, high ceilings, hardwood or wood tile. The pool area on the North side isn’t as nice, but it seems to be less crowded. Everyone flocks to the south pool on the weekends. You’ll use the South office for any administrative needs since the North office has been converted into a clubhouse. My landlord told me they’re currently working on getting a study room specifically for ATC similar to what Isola has, but I never heard a date. You can’t beat the convenience of Anatole. Don’t buy into the notion that staying at Kim’s will increase your chances to pass. Myself and 3 other classmates were at Anatole, and we didn’t attend a single study session at Kim’s, and 3 out of the 4 passed. We used Isola’s study Room during tabletops, but it isn’t that beneficial in my opinion beyond that. We spent plenty of time at Kim’s on the weekends though (unrelated to academics). Hope this helps. I’ve just seen too many people say that staying at Kim’s will increase your chances at the academy, and I totally disagree.

I'm only getting 17mbps down and 3 up at Anatole
I'm on the North side of Anatole and my internet got switched from AT&T to Cox. Speeds were terrible before but now I get 149 mbps down and 12 up. Insanely fast compared to what I've used back home.

I went through Corporate Housing Solutions and have 0 complaints. Apartment is awesome, fully furnished, etc. Have to agree with others that you can't beat the convenience. Probably 7 or 8 of my classmates are staying at Kim's but honestly we all travel around with solid study groups anyway. Never felt as if staying here was an impediment to that. We still all get together.

Considering Kim's and Anatole. Don't really care about per diem but if I do Kim's, it would be the $39 and single apartment for Anatole.

Anatole looks nice but it seems like most stay at Kim's. Since I wont be bringing a car, is there reliable public transportation to take me from Anatole to Kim's or IB? My primary concern is joining study groups and I don't want to assume I'll have someone to carpool with.

There is little to no public transportation in Oklahoma City

I stayed at Kim's years ago as a 27 year old single guy and honestly it was one of the biggest reasons I passed. The study groups were awesome. of course, my roomates were great and also let me have lady friends over.

Outside your window
Im pissed at Isola Bella. I referred 3 people to the place and was promised $100 for each referral. You've probly seen the promos o here for the $$$. The ppl I sent didn't even know about Iso. Anyhow, they're all too friendly promising the $100. Getting the $$$ is a different story. 6 months have passed and still nothing. They make up sudden rules to back out of the referral. Had I not sent these guys, they would have never received the $1000's. Such a shame. I would refer every single new check in at my facility had they kept their word.

all i'm gonna say is that there's a reason that you don't see kim's spamming every single thread trying to bribe people to stay with them. If Isola Bella was really that good would they be as desperate as they appear?
