For whoever was looking for some study material for OKC. I'd presonally suggest reading through parts of the JO 7110.65

Why? Because this is the book of rules, you'll find your standard separation rules there, your wake turbulence rules there etc. Many things that will be nice to not have to worry about while attempting to learn the airport specific things.

Just my two cents, but the 7110.65 is never wrong.

Can you be more specific to what you are referring to? Complete oblivious idiot OTS here and I really want to change that.

I agree the other thread is clustered with useless post that i dont have time to read through everday. If your projected training is for july 2016 post here. This will allow us to keep track of our group and progress, thanks.

If you are an OTS idiot as you say reading the .65 will be useless because you won't understand it at all.

Incorrect. I dont know where you went to school or what you did before, but i know my military training had me reading straight from it and comprehending it how we thought. If we didnt understand then we would ask questions. If you have questions about something you read you can post here and I'll personally answer them unless someone else gets their first. For the most part the .65 is very subjective to whomever is reading it, but there is alot of solid good information in it if you search. Non radar is non radar for example. Limits of Navaids are universal, degrees at which an Aircraft can intercept are universal.....

If someone wants to read into, good for them. Dont tell them it cant help because it can.

Serious question here, so I know it was you had to be atleast 21 before you were able to become a controller. Im currently 18, ill be 19 in March, I figure will terminal will be there for 6 months, will say 8 months max so oldest I'll be is 20 if everything goes right and I pass academy. Is the age still a problem?

Are most of you planning on going to your new facility straight from the Academy? I ask because I own a house that I am planning to sell before the Academy, and I can't decide if I want to get a POD and have everything delivered to the new city, or just sell everything and start over once I get to the new place. Thoughts?
